FAQ's
Welcome to the FAQ page, I hope the information here answers most, if not all, questions you may have prior to booking with me! If you read this page in its entirety and have further questions please fill out the contact form on the 'Contact' page.
Q: Are your books open?
A: My Books for custom requests are currently closed. This means my schedule is full and I am not taking on any requests for new appointments or quotes.
Books will be reopening in Spring 2025 - exact date TBA.
When books open, the link to the booking form will be posted here.
Q: Where are you located?
The Ink Garden
214 Broadway
San Antonio, Tx 78205
Located in right next to Girl General
Q: How do I contact you?
A: If your question is not related to an appointment request, please fill out the contact form found on the Contact page.
Q:Who is 'us'?
A: Myself, and my assistant, Andee. Andee (she/they) assists me with answering and sorting emails, scheduling, and occasionally posts announcements on my social media pages.
Q: Can I DM you instead of email?
A: I do not use DM for business inquiries on any of my social media. If you have a question about availability or pricing, please email.
Q: What is your hourly rate?
A: Pricing is never based on the color, condition (health permitting), or age of your skin. If you have a body, it's a good one for tattoos. My current rates are split into half or full day sessions and can be estimated upon inquiry
Deposit: $200 - nonrefundable and goes towards total (final session)
Q: I want this exact tattoo/design I found, no changes. How much?
A: I will not copy designs from other artists. I would be happy to keep your reference in mind while creating a custom design for you, but I will not copy it.
*This policy excludes pop culture media that is already in widespread use such as historical fine art or references to movies, shows, or music. (Considered on a case-by-case basis.)
Q: Do you do color?
Yes! I offer B&G (Black and Grayscale) and Color. Ask me about a color test!
Q: How old do I have to be in order to be tattooed by you? What if I have a guardian's permission?
A: In the state of Texas you must be 18 years of age in order to receive a tattoo, regardless of parental permission. I will absolutely tattoo you on your 18th birthday, but not a day sooner. No exceptions.
Q: Would you tattoo something I drew myself?
A: I will take these requests on a case by case basis but I would prefer to create custom works or flash.
Q: Do you do coverups? Can you rework an existing tattoo?
A: No. I am currently in the process of streamlining my portfolio and developing my style as an artist. As this tends to be fine line work and softer shading, it doesn't typically work very well for coverups and I prefer a blank canvas for original pieces.
Q: What kind of ink do you use?
A: I use a variety of different brands to achieve different effects but any and all ink that I use is confirmed vegan, as are all products that I use during the tattoo process. My entire set-up is vegan and biodegradable wherever possible.
Q: What forms of payment can you take?
A: I only accept credit or debit card through secure transaction with Square. Please no cash.
Q: Do you take walk-ins?
A: No -my studio is by appointment only.
Q: Can I see my design?
A: To protect my art and your custom piece, I do not release the design until your appointment. When you see your design, I can make most adjustments right then and there if needed. If it requires a complete redraw, you will be rescheduled at no additional cost. Thank you for your trust and respect for my process.
Q: What is your touch-up policy?
A: It is important to me that you are satisfied with the work on your body, so I will happily work with you on minor corrections/maintenance. Touch-ups are free, at my discretion, and include correcting a portion of your tattoo that did not apply to your skin as intended.
Q: Are deposits required? Are they refundable or transferable?
A: Deposits are $200, required for booking, and are non-refundable. No exceptions.
Please respect your time and mine by only leaving a deposit if you are ready to commit to making an appointment.
Q: What is your favorite subject to tattoo?
A: I always enjoy anything pertaining to flora and fauna. Plants, animals, nature, pets...I love it all. I also enjoy mythical/magical concepts, fine art references, and popular culture (i.e. Ghibli, anime, etc).
Q: I sent an email/text a few days ago and haven't heard back. . . what gives?
A: Due to the high volume of inquiries received I do have an assistant, Andee, who's main tasks include helping me respond to emails in a timely manner. We ask that you please allow up to one week for replies, as Andee and I both work full schedules while trying to maintain that work/life balance we all strive for.
If your inquiry is time sensitive, please indicate this in the subject line of your email.
Nothing brings me more joy than getting the chance to bring your ideas to life for you, I promise I will get back to you as soon as I am able to. If you feel your message has gotten lost, feel free to remind us. If it has indeed been missed, it is never on purpose. Thank you for your patience!
